Our goal for this website is to help spark a passion for the beauty of the universe – in kids, families, and beginner-to-intermediate amateur astronomers.
We want TelescopeGuide.org to be a resource and a long-term contributor to the astronomy community – with quality reviews, recommendations and guides, as well as stimulating educational content, for people starting out with astronomy, astrophotography, and more.
Our Mission & Vision
To educate & inspire people who are getting started with telescopes & astronomy.
Our Vision
- Make it easier for people to start out and explore their growing interest in astronomy.
- Provide high-quality resources for beginners to astronomy – featuring education, guidance, and reviews.
- Share thought-provoking articles to spark a continuing passion for the wonder & beauty of the universe.
About the Authors
Two long-time friends with a passion for astronomy and education run TelescopeGuide.org:
- Brian Taylor: I work in the technology industry for my day job, but I enjoy running this website because it’s a great way to expand my long-term interest in space. I love learning (and teaching my kids, and helping other people learn) about astronomy.
- Kevin: A professional consultant, former public school teacher, and father of three. I get excited about content and hobbies that inspire people to get more involved in STEM, particularly astronomy.
Featured authors:
- Richard Bartlett: Richard has been featured in Sky & Telescope and Astronomy magazine. He’s written and published a number of astronomy-related books, and we’re super happy to be able to work with him on Telescope Guide articles.
We have a number of other contributors to the site as well (Mert, Laboni & others) and couldn’t do it without them!
